Michael Aaron Einziger (born 21 June 1976) in Los Angeles, is the multi-instrumentalist, co-writer and guitarist of the alternative rock band Incubus, as well as his own side project band, Time Lapse Consortium. He is of Jewish Heritage. Instruments that he has played on Incubus records include guitar, piano, Mellotron, pipa, analog synthesizers, tape samplers, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, as well as many others. He currently uses Vox and Marshall amps, along with Fender Jazzmaster guitars, as well as a plethora of effects pedals (11-15 depending on the tour), favoring phase shifter and echo effects. He used PRS guitars in the past. He has also played a Jerry Jones Guitars Master Sitar on "Nowhere Fast" from the Make Yourself album (live, he simply plays the sitar part with his guitar), and a Koto on "Aqueous Transmission". Mike also plays electric piano on songs like "Here In My Room" and has played piano on live versions of "Drive."

Mike has also written original music for the surfing documentary "Flow" (directed by Josh Landon), which has narration by fellow Incubus member Brandon Boyd.

He is a fan of Icelandic singer Björk, and claims her work inspires his own. He is also a fan of Steve Vai, Danny Elfman, and Frank Zappa.

He has dated models Cameron Richardson and Lily Aldridge.

His brother, Benjamin Einziger, is the guitarist and lead singer for the L.A. Indie pop band Agent Sparks.

Michael is the cousin of Scott Einziger, executive producer for Howard Stern's E! Show from 1994-2001.

In 2007, Einziger produced Nighttiming, the debut album of former Phantom Planet drummer and actor Jason Schwartzman's Coconut Records project. The album was released for download on March 20, 2007 on iTunes and is slated to be released in stores Summer 2007.

Recently Einziger has been suffering from Carpal tunnel syndrome and although he has had an operation that has corrected the problem, he will need to recuperate for a few months, hence recent tour plans have been postponed.
