From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michael John Disney (b. Bristol, Avon and Somerset, England, October 10, 1937) is an astrophysicist. He discovered the Crab Pulsar in 1969[1]. He was also one of the pioneers in the discovery of low surface brightness galaxies.

He was a professor at Cardiff University until his retirement in 2005, and is now Professor Emeritus.

He was the co-author with Alan Wright of the humourous (and often mis-attributed) short story 'Impure Mathematics'.
