Personal: Michael DeVaney… Resides in Temecula, Calif.… Has been bowling for a living since he was 18 years old… Is a big thoroughbred horse racing fan and a minority owner of a few horses… Favorite sports team is the San Diego Padres… First bowling memory is bowling with his parents when he was four years old… Nicknamed "Smash Mouth."

2005-06: Quietly had one of the most consistent seasons on Tour, posting eight top-10 finishes and finishing seventh in the 2005-06 PBA World Point Rankings… Drastically improved his point ranking for the second consecutive season; went from 42nd in 2003-04 to 17th in 2004-05 to seventh in 05-06… Set a career-high with $92,135 in season earnings… Made two championship round appearances, finishing third in the 2006 Motel 6 Phoenix Classic and second in the 2006 West Virginia Championship… Fell to Del Ballard Jr., 226-201, in the semifinals in Phoenix… In West Virginia, he knocked off Patrick Healey Jr., 226-194, before falling to qualifier Sean Rash, 194-178, in the title match; Rash became the first non-exempt bowler to win a Tour event when DeVaney left a 10-pin in the 10th frame needing a double to win… Started the season strong, finishing in the top-10 in three of the first four events… Finished seventh in both the 2005 Tulsa Championship and the 2005 Greater Omaha Classic… Finished ninth in the 2005 USBC Masters, the first of his two top-10 finishes in Majors during the season… Made match play in four of the next five events, but lost in the round of 32 in all four… Finished eighth in the 2006 Dick Weber Open, then made his first championship round the next week in Phoenix… After finishing second in West Virginia, DeVaney finished fifth in the 63rd U.S. Open, missing his first Major championship round by one spot… The fifth-place finish moved him to fourth in the 2005-06 PBA World Point Rankings… Finished 15th in the 2006 Denny’s World Championship… Posted top-eight finishes on four of the five PBA oil patterns… Finished the season 13-13 in match play… Went 3-0 in seven-game matches… His four 300 games tied for the Tour lead.



Career: Has cashed in 81 of 112 career events… Won his lone Denny’s PBA Tour title in the 2003 GEICO Earl Anthony Classic in Tacoma, Wash.; defeated Norm Duke in the final match, 279-248, after Duke had rolled a perfect game against Walter Ray Williams Jr. in the semifinals… Is 4-6 with a 215.20 average in seven career singles TV appearances… Has made 53 match play appearances.
