Michael W. "Mike" Connolly is the Iowa State Senator from the 14th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 1989 and is currently the Assistant Majority Leader. He received his BA and MA from Loras College.

Connolly currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Appropriations committee; the Education committee; the Ways and Means committee; the Ethics committee, where he is vice chair; the Government Oversight committee, where he is vice chair; and the State Government committee, where he is chair. His prior political experience includes serving as a representative in the Iowa House from 1979-1989.

Connolly ran unopposed for re-election in 2004 and receiving 21,685 votes. [1]
