Mike Buck

Mike Buck is an Austin, Texas based drummer originally from Ft. Worth, Texas, who has made his mark on the roots music scene around the world. He first made his name as a drummer for The Fabulous Thunderbirds in the mid to late 1970's. Buck appears on the first two Fabulous Thunderbird albums, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and What's The Word.

In the early 80's he joined up with guitarists Don Leady (of The Tailgators fame)and Steve Doerr to form The Leroi Brothers. Their first album, Check This Action features guest bassist Keith Ferguson.

Buck, Ferguson, and Leady, along with Denny Freeman, Evan Johns, and Frankie Camaro, appear on album Trash, Twang, and Thunder, under the name Big Guitars From Texas. The Leroi Brothers toured the U.S. and down under and continue to perform around Austin. Recently Buck has also performed and/or recorded with several younger up-and-coming Texas guitarists, most notably Eve Monsees, with which he has formed a new band.
