Michael J. Basrak (November 23, 1912 - December, 1973) was an All-American football player in the mid 1930's.

He has unique distinction as DUQUESNE University's "FIRST All-American". Was chosen as Orange Bowl MVP in 1937. Was First Round Draft Choice (#5 OVERALL) for the then PITTSBURGH PIRATES. Quite notably he served his country with the US Navy as an officer during WWII campaign. Forever enshrined at the Mike Basrak Field of Niles West HS in Skokie, IL (a Northshore suburb of Chicago, IL) for his tireless commitment as high school head coach, and for his abundant community service efforts in Skokie, IL and surrounding areas.
