The Gheorghe Doja commune (comuna Gheorghe Doja) (colloquial known as Doja) is a commune in Ialomiţa County in Romania, 20 km away from Slobozia and 150 km from Bucharest. The village is located in Bărăgan, in Siman Valley (Valea lui Siman). Initially, the settlement was named Valea lui Siman, and, later, Principesa Elena (Princess Hellen) and now its name is Gheorghe Doja. There are two natural sites nearby: the Fundata lake, and the Ialomiţa river.

The basic practice of the villagers is agriculture. In this village, the people are cultivating watermelons which they sell throughout the country. [Gh. Doja on Wikimapia]
