Mihi Ahn is an online reporter and interviewer whose most prominent article appeared on Salon.com. This article featured her reported response to the Harajuku fantasy that No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani made somewhat popular in 2004 and 2005, after the Harajuku Girls appeared in Stefani's music videos from her debut solo album, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Critisizing Stefani's Orientalism, the article suggested that "she's swallowed a subversive youth culture in Japan and barfed up another image of submissive giggling Asian women."
