Miguelanxo Prado
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Miguelanxo Prado is a Spanish comic book creator, born in A Coruña (1958).
He studied architecture, wrote novels and painted before moving to comics.
He worked for many magazines and writes delirious and fierce life-chronicles. He published his first albums at Les Humanoïdes Associés: Chienne de Vie (1988), C'est du Sport (1989) and Y'a Plus de Justice (1991). He also produced erotic stories, which appeared in L'Écho des Savannes. His best-known comic book is Trait de craie (Streak of Chalk, 1992). This is a dream-like, experimental and beautifully colored "impossible" story about a man on an island, who can't distinguish dream and reality, or the present and the past. He wins several prizes for this album, among which the Alph'Art for the Best Foreign Album at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Its is the second times he earns this award; the first time was in 1991 for Manuel Montano.
As of 2005, he keeps creating comics on a regular basis.
