Miguel Portas

Miguel Portas (born May 1, 1958 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese politician and the sole Member of the European Parliament for the left-wing Bloco de Esquerda; part of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left group. He is member of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament and member of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries.
He is the older brother of former Defence Minister and leader of the right-wing CDS-PP, Paulo Portas.
