Miguel Pérez (baseball)

Miguel Angel Pérez (born August 25, 1983 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a catcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Cincinnati Reds. He bats and throws right handed.

According Baseball America, Perez was called the best catching prospect to ever come through the minor league system by one Cincinnati Reds official.

Pérez opened the 2005 season with Single-A Sarasota and hit .268 in 80 games before being promoted to Triple-A Louisville, where he hit .208 in 21 games. He made his major league debut with Cincinnati on September 7th. In two games he went 0-for-3.
