Dr. Miguel Angel Martinez-Gonzalez, MD, MPH, PhD, (born in 1957 in Malaga, Spain) is a Spanish physician, epidemiologist, and nutrition researcher. Currently, Dr. Martinez is the Chair of the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University of Navarra , and is Deputy Dean and Professor at the Medical School. Dr. Matinez is the 'Principal Investigator' of the SUN study, and the Coordinator of the ten Centers included in the PREDIMED Network (a large clinical trial assessing the effects of a Mediterranean diet on the primary prevention of Cardiovascular disease).
