[edit] Merge

I've propsoed merging the Young Middenface entry into this one. It features a strip based on the character as a young man and this is the mian entry so it can't be merged into the lesser one (which is what happened. Also things are slow in the 2000 AD neck of the woods and so merge notices are left up for longer so this will be here for a month unless there is a big overwhelming reponse. I vote for merge - I was umming and ahhing about proposing it when I first found the Young Middenface entry but it looks like it should be done (Emperor 18:51, 26 August 2006 (UTC))

Surely you should merge the character article into the comic article? That's like having the The Simpsons article merged into Homer Simpson (sorry for the lame example). Troubleshooter 19:38, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Nope. The character has made a number of appearances - in Strontium Dog and his own series (as a younger version of himself) so you can't merge this entry into Young Middenface as the two aren't equivalent - Young Middenface is, in mathematical parlance, a subset of the Middenface McNulty character. It'd be like trying to merge Homer Simpson into (the made up spinoff) The New Adventures of Homer As a Boy. The example you gave would be the equivalent of merging Strontium Dog into Middenface McNulty which would indeed be unwise. The only other solution is not to merge them which isn't a terrible idea but I think a merge of Young Middenface into this one would be the best option. (Emperor 23:03, 26 August 2006 (UTC))
Well I'd go with no merge. Troubleshooter 18:07, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Merge: Well it's definately pointless having two articles on this subject. They should be merged. Since this character has appeared in his own strip as a child (Young Middenface) and in other strips as an adult (Strontium Dog) it would not work to merge into Young Middenface, because the article name restricts the scope of the article: you could not really have a section about Middenface as an adult in an article which is explicitly about his childhood. So you have to merge into Middenface McNulty. Richard75 18:06, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Merge. Agree with Richard 75. (But how about a comic called "Old Middenface"? Now that would deserve its own article!) Noclevername 09:54, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
