Midtown Madness (series)

Midtown Madness is a series of racing games set in famous cities around the world. The games differ from conventional racing games of the time in two significant respects; they feature unconventional plots, and allow free roaming through city streets, whereas most racing games of the time only allowed following a pre-defined track.

The original Midtown Madness and its first sequel, Midtown Madness 2, were developed by Angel Studios (now Rockstar San Diego). However, Midtown Madness 3 was developed by Digital Illusions CE (of Battlefield 1942 fame), and released only for the Xbox. All games were published by Microsoft Game Studios.
