Midget Fan Club is a punk rock band from Simi Valley, CA. The band consists of GFS (vocals, bass), Fish (lead guitar, backing vocals), Myke (drums), Sam (rhythm guitar, backing vocals).
The band's name was inspired by a story from the late 1960s. GFS's father was attending a party for his friend Ben, and the record release of his local psychedelic rock band 'Exploding Dirt'. The next morning, as the party subsided, Ben was nowhere to be found. He was never seen again. The only thing that was left behind was a note reading:
Midget Fan Club,
-Ben
In 1998, GFS started the band with some friends. Most of them didn't take the band seriously and parted ways with the group. After 2 studio albums, he took the band west from Brunswick, GA to Los Angeles, CA (specifically Hollywood and then Simi Valley, CA.) Finding the LA talent pool deeper and richer than that of the bible belt, GFS met Myke and the two of them set out to recreate the Midget Fan Club (or MFC as they are known to fans.)
Over the course of the next few months Sam and Fish came into the project. Cementing the new line-up of MFC and reinvigorating the sound of the band by bringing their unique talents and influences to the group.
