Dear Mick,
First, check this guideline: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links#Links_to_normally_avoid.
The Urban Permit is primarily a booking site. I'm sure it's one of many. If we allow it, we'd have to allow hundreds of similar sites. Also, any external link must be directly related to the article. You added this link to the destination restaurant article, and it clearly doesn't belong there. As for the Upper Street article, it's more appropriate, but I still fear it's too commercial. If you check back on the Destination Restaurant, you'll notice I wasn't the first one to mark your additions are linkspam. But I won't claim to be the final answer here; maybe we ought to check with a system administrator.
Here's a bit of friendly advice (since you're new here): when you leave a message on someone's talk page, at the end of the message, you can sign it by adding four tildes at the end (4 "~").
