[edit] "Image:Oreilly 215.GIF"
Hi. It looks like you uploaded the same image twice, as Image:Oreilly 215.GIF and as Image:Oreilly 215.gif. The software we use is sensitive to case, so the difference between "GIF" and "gif" in the image names matters. I've deleted Image:Oreilly 215.GIF because we don't need duplicates, and it wasn't used anywhere. Image:Oreilly 215.gif, which is used in two articles, is still there. - By the way, this "Temp Storage" business at the bottom of the page may turn out to be awkward. A lot of people add comments to user's talk pages by using the "+" tab at the top of the screen. This automatically creates a new section at the bottom of the page, below the "Temp Storage." You might do better to put your "stored" text at the top of the page, in your user page, or in a subpage. FreplySpang (talk) 03:34, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- Subpages are easy to create. There are a number of ways to do it, and all of them are pretty similar. Directions for one way are at Wikipedia:Subpages#How_to_create_User_subpages. FreplySpang (talk) 03:52, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Also, you uploaded the same picture of Toni Pearen to both Image:Pearon, Toni.jpg and Image:Pearon, Pearon, Toni.jpg. I've deleted the unused one, Image:Pearon, Toni.jpg. FreplySpang (talk) 05:23, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: POV message you sent me
Can I ask what article you are talking about? Street walker 13:29, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
No worries. I found it, the Jay Leno article right? I've read the transcript of Jay Leno's testimony, which unfortunately you can't read anymore because MJJSource closed down, and he said "If I told the police anything, I've long forgotten what it was I told them". It's also common sense, and a common opinion, that Jay Leno wanted Jackson found guilty because it would be great material for his late night talk show. Street walker 13:34, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Language tools...
I'm not sure, but very possibly. Can you clarify what part needs to be translated? (And, into what?) Alai 19:45, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- Words such as...? Alai 19:48, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose that's narrowing the field somewhat... "not-indecently-soon renom" = if he's renominated, but not unreasonably soon; "(no names, no pack drill)" = naming no names of other people who have been renominated repeatedly and/or hastily; "personality meltdowns in the meantime" = does something crazy before then; "(Or falls asleep, and is eaten by the clown, obviously.)" = jocular reference to his user name. Any of that help? Alai 19:59, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Userpage is much cleaner, but...
I hope you don't mind the edit. After becoming a Wikipedian, I ran across your user page and used it as my source material, and am now watching it. Unfortunately, there was a change somewhere, and now the box for the (WikiProjectMelbourneTasks) freaks out and occupies the same location as your Userboxes, hope you don't mind the edit this way...
Regarding source material, I meant that I've used it as a template; it was the first userpage I ran across that I liked and had an actual intelligible layout. I'm still figuring out how I can put up my own image to look as cool as the firefox logo on yours :D

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:2712 packer5 a.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:2712 packer5 a.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 18:23, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

It's a bloody joke. Not enough Australians on this site maybe. I found this page where a few people might be interested, i think its worth posting the deletion entry on that thread to save the article. Copyright infringement? I mean FFS these people are idiots. Michael,
You sounded upset that I'd nominated the article for deletion. The article looked as below at the time, so I nominated it. It didn't look encyclopaedic at the time. Glad to say the article's now looking better though. --OscarTheCattalk 18:07, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: G4 Page
MIKE, leaving just "now produced by G4techTV Canada" makes it seem to unknowing users that G4 was producing the show while in the USA during 2005 Leaving "Still airing and now produced..." is more sensible sounding to people who still want to know where it still airs. IT'S BEEN PRODUCED BY G4TECHTV CANADA SINCE AUGUST 2004! The whole "now produced" is pointless..."they" have been producing it for AWHILE now.

Hi mate, just letting you know if there's a chance I can pull off an upset win in this admin vote, you should vote under "support"...even if you nominate i understand you can still vote. Don't think I'll win but it's worth a shot. Cheers, Rogerthat Talk 07:27, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

I just saw that. As you can see it was my IP address which did this, not my account. My sister thought she was being funny. Apologies.
By the way, I removed the comment from your talkpage after I checked the history of the IP and discovered the alterations in the history. I trust that we can remove this comment now this has been resolved. Justin H 8:47, 18 February 2006

[edit] Defenders of the Hate
I closed the AFD as keep because there were five keep votes and two deletes (including you as the nominator). The merge votes count as keep, since AFD is not for suggesting articles to be merged (that's why we've got {{merge}}). The alternative would have been to close the AFD as no consensus, which would have had the exact same result.
Now, if you want the article merged to another one, please start a discussion about it on the article's talk page. - ulayiti (talk) 10:40, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tom Hawkins
Hi, I am not sure I understand the meaning of your vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tom Hawkins. You seem to be voting keep with the reason that it is normal to keep non-notable people. Is this the case? Could you possibly further clarrify your vote, thanks. --Martyman-(talk) 10:50, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
- You have voted Keep, I think this is what is confusing people. --Martyman-(talk) 22:15, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- I am not trying to change your mind or anything. It just seems from your comments you meant to vote Delete "as is the norm for non-notable bios" but you have voted Keep. It only takes a few keep votes to get a no consensus keep, so I just wanted to clarrify that you actually meant to vote Keep not Delete, and I am not the only one confused Harro5 also asked for clarrfication. Thanks, --Martyman-(talk) 21:05, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Mike. Your last message to Martyman is not correct: there are several of us that are confused by your position. Would you please revisit Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tom Hawkins and clarify your position. Your opinion is important, and could be pivotal to the debate. Thanks. ×Meegs 23:59, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
What is with your response to User:Harro5 for correcting the mistake in your vote? You made it clear that you had meant to vote "Delete" and yet your vote still said "Keep" (and was open to being mis-counted). He was acting in good faith in making the change to "Delete" as you made it clear that it is what you originally intended. You seem to behaving as though you believe people have been victimising you. All people have been trying to do is assertain what your vote actually meant as you wrote "Keep" but your comments have all suggested that you meant to write "Delete"... --Martyman-(talk) 02:25, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
- I might add that from looking at your responses to people you have been failing to grasp the simple fact that the reason people where confused is because you wrote "Keep" on your vote and then steadfastly defended it will arguments that where obviously on the side of "Delete". Your vote is now corrected but up until Harrp5 fixed it it said "Keep". Please try to read messages left on your talk page more closely in future. I have left you several messages to you above clearly stating that the problem was not that I thought you meant "keep" but that you written "keep" but seemed to mean otherwise. --Martyman-(talk) 02:30, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
