[edit] Text

Michael Barnett was born on the 15th of July 1972 and is an employee with the UK's biggest supermarket chain, Tesco PLC.

Currently working at their Petrol Filling Station in Barnsley.

Michael has worked there for over 4 years.

Michael is the youngest son of Maureen and Albert Barnett, he has 2 brothers, David (b. 6/10/68) and Graham (b. 28/6/57) , and a sister Karen (b. 29/6/60).

During his school years at Wombwell High School, Michael was big pals with Andrew Sanderson, Carl Haywood, Shaun McDermott and Mark Rose (Roz). Together they were nicknamed "Harm Crew" because of the things that they got up to outside of school! He also had a good friend in Wayne Cooke, who was a very loyal friend to Michael over the years. Carl and Andrew were Michael's closest friends during high school, and Michael was the only person that both Carl and Andrew could rely on and trust 100%. Carl would often ask Michael for help with his english homework, as this was a subject Carl found difficult, and Michael could help him with this as he was very good at it, by his own admission. Michael would often be at Carl's house, playin PC games, in between doing each other's homework, as Michael was not that good at maths!

Since leaving school, Michael has worked in various places, starting with Barnsley ITEC in 1988, where he met friends like DD Dyson, Craig Duggan and Shaun Jackson before moving on to Roger Worth Training in 1989, where he met Scott Kaye, Jeff Ward and other friends, he went on various placements, including Ackroyds newsagents in Elsecar and Willis Stores in nearby Hoyland in 1990. After leaving Roger Worth Training, Michael went to Nacro Don Dearne Training, where he trained in typing and computing skills, eventually being given a role alongside recruitments officer. After Nacro closed down in late 1991, he then went back to Barnsley ITEC to complete computing skills there, including a course on desigining web pages. He met good friends there including Darren Keating and Paul Illingworth.

Michael worked again in 1992 in Chamber of Commerce in Barnsley, where he soon became good friends with Keith Ulliott, who sadly disappeared in 1994 and Michael was a little saddened at the disappearance of a close friend whom he'd had a good friendship with. Whilst at Chamber of Commerce, Michael trained with Keith in retail in the shop at the training centre.

After leaving chamber of commerce in 1993, he went to Brampton ITEC, training in IT skills, where he met a good friend Ken Lee. Michael also went to work as a temporary NTA at a school in Hoyland Common, leaving in 1995, after making many friends with both pupils and parents and teachers alike.

He then returned to chambers of commerce in 1996 to continue in the retail business, going on placement at Willis's stores in Wath-Upon-Dearne. The store closed in 1998 because of financial difficulties.

The next time Michael would work was in 2000, when he went to HPW Ltd, where he obtained free driving lessons as part of the course, he had to earn these lessons by attending the schemes job courses which was designed to help people back into full time work. During this time he was big pals with his nephew Andy, and Michael's next door neighbour Paul Dean. Michael eventually passed his driving test in 2002, and soon found himself a job at Tesco's, where he worked for 2 years collecting trollies, gaining friends such as Chris Mellor, Brendan Damms, Chris Thrall, Ben Marsh, Stuart Hilton to name a few! He has become well liked and most popular throughout his 4 years there, the longest he has worked for a company for so far! He has previously worked at a market stall in Wombwell for his friend Ryan Cawley, he worked for him for a short time between 2003 and 2005. In 2002, he was re-united with former friend and collegue Ken Lee, but tragedy soon came afterwards in 2003, when Ken's wife, Faye, was killed in an horrific accident, which shocked Michael deeply, as Faye was 5 months pregnant at the time of her death.

Michael has found life difficult in the last 12 months, experiencing financial difficulty, which he is currently trying to solve by throwing himself into his work.

These days Michael tends to spend time alone at home, playing music which he enjoys the most. He is also not married and does not have any children. Although he has a secret longing that he would have liked a son that he could look after and spoiled if ever the opportunity had arose.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Five-Star-System-Addict-55927.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Five-Star-System-Addict-55927.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:Five-Star-Rock-My-World-187550.jpg

Hello, and thank you for uploading Image:Five-Star-Rock-My-World-187550.jpg. I noticed you tagged this image with {{NoRightsReserved}}, which says that the copyright holder has irrevocably released all rights to the image. Since this is an album cover, I struck out that tag and replaced it with {{albumcover}}. It seems unlikely to me that the copyright holder, who is probably the band or their agent or distributor, would release all rights to an album cover, because that would mean anyone could use the album cover for any purpose and modify it in any way; in other words, I could start up my own band and use that album cover for one of my albums. If you have evidence that the copyright holder has indeed released all rights, you can restore the {{NoRightsReserved}} tag, but please post the evidence you have on the image description page, so that others can verify the licensing status.

If you have any questions, please let me know. —Bkell (talk) 06:34, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
