[edit] Vanitas Vanitatum

Hello, I'm Michalis (or if you prefer, Μιχάλης), an Electrical & Computer Engineering student, National Technical University of Athens. I've been around since 1 July 2005. My first post was a proposal to write an article about the Regime of the Colonels. An hour later I was starting the article. Actually, it was me that gave it the ugly name it has now. Since then I've been doing lots of stuff on Wikipedia. I spend more time reading it than editing it though...

My interests in editing and/or creating articles in wikipedia have been determined by my immediate surroundings, that is: Greece, her history, and her geography, and greek-related current events. As a Wikipedian I contribute information on topics I am most familiar with and I strongly dislike it when people forget good faith (although I've done so myself). I also think that edit wars are lame.

The contribution I enjoyed most doing was at the Greeklish article. Trying to explain how Greeks see greeklish text, I just added in "αγγλληνικά" the phrase δις ιζ χαρντ του ριντ!! Nice, eh?

[edit] ToDo list

My notes.

This list tends to get rather outdated...

  1. Rewrite the events section in Athens Polytechnic uprising.
  2. Add new section in Greek military junta of 1967-1974 or create new article on anti-junta movement. Added. Now work on it!!
  3. Create the following articles: Order of Honour (Greek medal), Order of Beneficence (Greek medal).
  4. Work on Romaniotes, Jews in Greece. Also on Jewish Holocaust of Thessaloniki and maybe create Holocaust in Greece?
  5. Add more stuff in Archbishop Damaskinos on how he helped Jews.
  6. Write a decent article out of the List of national parks of Greece article. Move the page to something like National Parks in Greece. National parks in Greece now exists.
  7. Copyedit from Operation Gladio to Regime of the Colonels.
  8. Create article: Thanasis Triaridis.
  9. Add to the Velos Mutiny, create an article on the Attempted coup by the Greek Navy (1973). See My notes.
  10. Expand Photios Kontoglou.
  11. Wikify and add info on the Mall scandal: The Mall Athens
  12. Create article: Nikos Paleokostas ([1])
