[edit] Linking from Other Articles

It was suggested by the Wiki editing bot that this page be linked to from other relevant sources. So I quickly added links to this page on the RNC, DNC, Karl Rove and Political Campaign pages. Other suggestions? Nmagee 21:56, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

I think that is a terrible idea. What does the RNC, DNC, or Karl Rove have to do with a concept like this? It seems to be only associated by proxy in theory but certainly not directly related or even topical.

Microtargeting is probably a made up term. The neutrality of this article is troubled, as is, I fear the accuracy. I'd nominate this for AfD personally, this and narrowcasting. Both seem bogus to me. Narrowcasting even seems contradictory as its defined.Testerer 19:15, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I just removed this unrefd statement


"Democrats, who did not utilize microtargeting in 2004, developed microtargeting capabilities for the 2006 election cycle, however to this date, their techniques in this area are not as sophisticated as those of Republicans.[1]"

This is not only not written NPOV but its also not accurately refd and is totemic of all the problems that this article faces. I'm not sure what small collective have crafted this article, but it should (imho) be scrapped or written entirely over.Testerer 19:20, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Care for some dip with that chip? To answer your question about the "clique," I and, I believe, one other editor have been doing whatever work has been done on this. I started after reading an article about it on the front page of the Wall Street Journal that piqued my curiousity. You seem to think that the statement above is intended as some sort of partisan criticism of the Democrats. However, when I was doing the research for this, I found that the Democrats themselves were concerned that the Republicans were better at that tactic. The piece in the Post, for example, quotes a liberal/labor activist saying this. Of course if you think the article needs to go to AfD, feel free to take it there.
