I think his date of death, February 21, 2006, should be left out until he officially dies. Also, I don't understand why it said his birthdate was placed as September, when the number 10 signifies October. TripleH1976 02:50, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Where was Michael Morales born?

There's no history anywhere on where he was born, maybe where he grew up, etc.. Is that information available? Neither of the external links seem to have it.

[edit] Questionable evidence

Isn't it true that the informant whose testimony got Morales put onto death row claimed that he and Morales discussed the crime in Spanish, and the fact that it later turned out Morales couldn't speak Spanish is what made his appeal and its subsequent refusal more publicised? I'm basing that on an article in The Guardian on monday. 86.20.231.125 16:08, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The death penalty

When you think about it the death penalty, in California, really has no teeth. Big deal that you get the death penalty, because you get to live for the next 20+ years on the taxes of hard working people. I say, abolish it all together or start killing the condemned prisoners faster. Anybody agree? I gotta tell that to my sister, she lives in California...lol TripleH1976 08:47, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Word... That is about the only thing I will praise the Saddam exucation for, at least they killed him with in the 60 days of his trail coming to an end. The fact is if they would have charged him with Life In Prison, instead of Death, some one would have done the tax payers a favor by air holing him, and it wouldn't have tooken 20+ years to get the job done. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.51.41.72 (talk) 06:21, 7 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] the death penalty

i strongly believe that morales should pay for what he did. Isn't it enough that he strangled, stabbed and raped a woman who didn't have to suffer that way. I strongly agree with the death penalty and belive that a human being is truly responsible for his of her actions, "you reap what you sow." I also believe that they should be put to death a lot quicker because they are only spending tax payer money!!!!

[edit] Anyone know about when he is gonna go down?

I heard in May the hearing is starting, and Morales will be executed this summer or fall. Is this true? I hope we get this over with.

[edit] Confused by introduction

It says "Morales has been convicted of murdering 17-year-old Terri Winchell on January 8, 1981, a crime to which it is claimed he has confessed. Winchell was in a love triangle with a cousin of Morales, Richard Ortega, and another man. Ortega asked Morales to kill Winchell so that Ortega could have exclusive relations with his lover. According to prosecutors, Morales attacked Winchell from behind and tried to strangle her with his belt." It is not clear to me from this passage whether Ortega is a necrophiliac, or a homosexual, and even if it weren't for the ambiguity, either possibility seems unlikely enough to warrant explicit clarification on its own.
