There was a notice [1] in the Victoria Times Colonist: "CONEY, Michael Greatrex 28 September 1932 - 4 November 2005 Passed away peacefully at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative care unit of Cancer (Mesothelioma)....". I expect that this link may be transient so I didn't add it to the article. --Big_Iron 23:07, 7 November 2005 (UTC) It looks as if someone undid the redirect in Michael Coney and the article was edited after that. I made an effort to set things right or at least better. --Big_Iron 23:16, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Hero of Downways

Just wanted to say that I read this novel many years ago when I was much younger and loved it. I have never forgotten it in all that time. Anyway, I have only just learned that the author has recently passed away and I dont know where else to express my gratitude for the novel. I'm not saying that I think it's a great literary work, (although it may be), but only that I personally really enjoyed it.

So, belatedly, thank you Michael G. Coney.

[edit] Fang the Gnome

Just wanted to mention that Fang The Gnome was one of the funniest things I've ever read. It did a great job taking the piss on the Arthurian legend while weaving a great story on its own. I feel I'd have liked Mr Coney had I ever met him. Condolences to his family- HC Seattle

[edit] Another fan

I read a lot of his books in the 1970s, enjoyed them and was surprised they've dropped out of favour. Good if he is being republished now. --GwydionM 20:23, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I've now given him a proper bibliography and added more links. Someone else will need to do the entries for the books themselves, since I no longer have them.
Someone could also remove the 'stub' status, if they thing it now qualified as more. --GwydionM 17:31, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
