This is a cut and paste from his website...

That's true. I marked the article with the copyvio template. I suggest rewriting it from scratch. --Niggurath 01:39, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

link title this is michaels official website. check it out!!

In addition, his claim to being the "fastest shredder of all time" doesn't seem to be a title or even a consensus. Rusty Cooley's page references Nick Topfer as the fastest shredder, who does not yet have a wikipedia page.

Does anyone besides me think this article needs to be wikified? It reads like it was written by an 8th grader writing about his favorite guitar player. --MUSpud2 23:46, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] POV

This article reads like a fan copied and pasted most of it from various biographies from the internet, Especially under critism. Lots of parts need citing, and the article definatly needs some sprucing up Moitio (talk) 22:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Description of his inventions

"He also invented and successfully played the very first 'quad' guitar"
"The Double Guitar is another of his innovations (along with the 'string dampener')"

Could someone explain what these inventions are? I can just about guess for the double guitar (especially seeing the photo), but I don't have a clue about the rest. Thanks. IronChris | (talk) 09:51, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

I did a brief explanation of the string dampener in the third or fourth paragraph.

The quad guitar is like the double one except another one of those stuck on the bottom...to make four guitars in total. I don't understand what the point of the others are since he only has 2 hands, unless each guitar had a different sound.

erm... "As a side note, the legendary guitarist Sasquatch of the super group Storm Signal once said that Michael Angelo Batio wears a strapon and is the worst guitarist of all time, even worse than Fred Durst, Rob Finch, and Orion Musmecci" Can someone delete that, unless its true, which i doubt.

I modified the sentence making note of the dampener, since it seemed to imply that he singlehandedly came up with the idea. I also corrected the bit saying that the dampener attaches to the nut of the guitar, which it doesn't. intooblv 11:11, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tricks

This mentions a bunch of his tricks like playing two guitars at once, but his most famous trick is how he flips he hand back and fourth over the guitar neck. This should be added.

Add it then...
I believe this technique is commonly referred to (at least in his forums and by fans worldwide) as the "MAB over-under Technique." It can be seen in two separate occasions in the video for "No Boundaries", which can be found here. I would check with him first, maybe he has a different (and coined) term for that. He does answer to various messages on his forums, so try that. --SynthesizedShredder 03:48, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birth year?

Where did someone get the 1956 birth year from.

A search on peoplefinders.com shows his age as 51 years old. He cannot have been born in 1961.

Who added the June 12, 1956 as Batio's birthdate? Source?
