Microsoft Passport Network
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Microsoft Passport Network, originally called Microsoft .NET Passport, is a network by Microsoft that works with a Windows Live ID. There are some companies and organizations in addition to Microsoft that use the Passport Network, such as NASDAQ and Expedia. It was formerly also used by eBay. The Microsoft services that use the Passport Network are Hotmail, MSNBC, all MSN services, Xbox 360's Xbox Live, the .NET Messenger Service and MSN subscriptions.
Microsoft's Windows XP currently has an option to link a Windows user account to the Microsoft Passport Network, logging users into Passport whenever they log into Windows.
Currently, there are 200 million users of the Passport Network, mostly Hotmail and MSN Messenger users.
