Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) is a manufacturer of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, founded in 1989 when a group of venture capitalists acquired Microchip from General Instruments. Its products include microcontrollers (PICmicro), Serial EEPROM devices, dsPIC, PIC24), KEELOQ devices, radio frequency (RF) devices, thermal, power and battery management analog devices, as well as linear, interface and mixed signal devices.

Corporate Headquarters is located at Chandler, Arizona with wafer fabs in Tempe, Arizona and Gresham, Oregon.

Among its chief competitors are Atmel, Infineon, Freescale, STM, TI, Analog Devices and Maxim IC.
