[edit] Story
The male version of the main character of InuYasha: Secret of the Cursed Mask. He is nervous, but kind and brave. He lives in the modern era of Japan and lives at the Kururugi Shrine, where his family is holding the Doll Festival, a ritual of placing a name in a wooden doll painted with the symbol of the Shikigami (a red star inside a circle). As the dolls are burned, the legend says that you will be able to see the person whose name you put inside. Since he is late for the festival, his father sends him to the store house to retrieve more talismans. A symbol appears on the ground and he falls through it, arriving in the Sengoku era.
After being chased by a demon and unwittingly destroying it with unawakened Shikigami powers within him, he meets Inuyasha and Myoga, who take him to Kaede's village where she, along with Kagome Higurashi and Shippo are waiting. Kagome attempts to take him back to the modern age with the Bone-Eater's Well, the gateway Kagome uses to move between the ages, but finds it does not work. Stuck in the past until they can find a way to send him back, Michiru joins Inuyasha and Kagome on their adventures.
While traveling, they run into a new enemy: Utsugi, a "hitogata" (clay doll demon) who looks just like Kururugi and seems able to use the Shikigami. His goal is the take his descendant Kururugi's soul and use it along with the power of Shikigami to become fully human again. With help from a blind old priest named Kakaju, Kururugi awakens the spirtiual power of Shikigami within him-/herself and uses it to aid InuYasha and his party in their quest.
After a long-fought battle, and risking their lives many times, Naraku is seemingly defeated by the combined efforts of Kururugi and the others. However, after time passes, Kururugi decides to leave Kaede's Village and find Utsugi — the only one who could seen him/her back to the modern era. Kakuju is killed while traveling with them, and uses his/her remaining few moments of life to transfer his soul into an amulet and protect Kururugi when Utsugi tries to take his/her soul.
Kururugi then confronts Utsugi, who is taken over by Naraku for Utsugi's Shikigami powers. With Utsugi's help and after a very difficult battle, Naraku is once again defeated. Utsugi is released, but dies soon after, for Kakaju's soul in the amulet merges with her instead of Kururugi's.
With Utsugi's death, Kururugi returns to the modern era at the point where he left.
