Michael Zorc (born August 25, 1962) is a German former footballer who spent his entire career with Borussia Dortmund. A central midfielder, he played 463 games (a club record) between 1981 and 1998, where he was for many years team captain and was hugely popular with the supporters. He is also the club's second top goalscorer of all-time, thanks in part to his excellent penalty-taking ability. The tail-end of his career saw his greatest successes, as Dortmund were twice German Bundesliga champions as well as winning the UEFA Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup. He played seven times for the German national team, but never made the squad for any international tournament. His father, Dieter Zorc, had played in the Bundesliga for VfL Bochum and was an amateur international for Germany.
