Michael Weishan

Michael Weishan (born 7 August 1964 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is best known as the host of the PBS television series, The Victory Garden, a position he assumed in 2001. He is the fourth host of that national, Emmy award-winning series, which debuted in 1975 and remains the most popular gardening series in America (2006). In addition to his PBS television work, Weishan has appeared on numerous national TV programs; has hosted his own NPR radio show, The Cultivated Gardener (1999-2001); and is principal of the landscape design firm, Michael Weishan and Associates, which specializes in traditionally styled residential design for homes across the US. Weishan is also the author of three books: The New Traditional Garden (1999); From a Victorian Garden (2004); and The Victory Garden Companion (2006). Weishan is a frequent contributor to numerous national periodicals, including New Old House Magazine, where he currently holds the post of Gardening Editor. Weishan is an honors graduate of Harvard University, and lives outside of Boston.
