Michael Walchhofer (born April 28, 1975 in Radstadt) is an Austrian Alpine skier. He started his career in slalom, but now participates in the downhill speed events. He won the silver medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in the men's downhill event. He also participated in the combined event, but he did not finish the slalom portion.[1]

He started his ski carrier in Slalom, but now he is one of the fastest skiers in speed disciplines. He has three children, a daughter and two sons.
