Michael Mandel (law professor)

Michael Mandel is a Canadian legal academic, specializing in criminal law with a particular interest in criminal sentencing. He was a part of the Osgoode Hall Law School's faculty since 1974 having also graduated from Osgoode with his LL.B.. He taught a Native Law Program at the University of Saskatchewan, McMaster University, the University of Toronto, and a lecture circuit in Italy. In 1998 he was a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is stridently anti-war and has suggested that US President George W. Bush be banned from entering Canada because of the American invasion of Iraq. He is also a noted critic of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He has also been a frequent supporter of Palestinian rights.[1]
