Michael Lewin (guitarist)

Michael Lewin is the Head of Guitar Studies at the Royal Academy of Music and the Vice-President of the European Guitar Teachers’ Association - he is a classical guitarist and a lutenist.

Lewin was born in Epsom, Surrey.
[edit] Studies
Lewin studied under Hector Quine at the Royal Academy of Music from 1967 to 1971, winning the Julian Bream prize and a Recital Diploma. He later learned under Jose Tomas in Spain.
[edit] Performances
He has played as a solo performer with the Nottingham Playhouse, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the English National Opera, the Scottish Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and La Piccola Scala, Milan.
