Michael Husbands (born 13 November 1983) is a professional footballer who plays for Port Vale in Coca Cola League One (the third tier of English football).

Husbands is a very quick forward who began his career at Aston Villa, where he was a member of their FA Youth Cup winning team of 2002. After a loan spell with Hereford United (where he made 5 appearances), he was released to join Southend United in 2003 where he spent two years, but played only 16 games due to injury. In the summer of 2005 he joined Bristol Rovers for a short spell before moving to Walsall and then Vale in the autumn.

He has scored 5 goals for Port Vale but his season has been cut short with a hernia injury. Husbands has re-signed for Port Vale for the 2006-2007 footballing season. In the 2006/2007 season (present), Michael has only started 3 games and made over 20 sub appearances and scored 6 goals. Michael hasn't had a good starting chance in playing for port vale because Martin Foyle (vale manager) has not giving him a descent chance.

Family life

Michael grew up in Aston, Birmingham. His mum is called Drew and Dad is also called Michael. He grew up as the only child. He has one known cousen and that is Brian N Husbands, who currently is a semi-pro footballer who plays on his local playing fields on weekends.
