Michael E. Gronstal is the Iowa State Senator from the 50th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 1984 and is currently the majority leader. He received his BA from Antioch College.
Gronstal currently serves on a committee in the Iowa Senate - the Rules and Administration committee, where he is chair. His prior political experience includes serving as the chair of the Pottawattamie County Democratic Party from 1986-1988.
Gronstal was re-elected in 2004 with 12,480 votes, defeating Republican opponent Loren Knauss. [1]
