Michael Foster (born December 9, 1966 in Richmond, Virginia) is the drummer of rock band FireHouse.
[edit] Biography
Michael Foster was born in Richmond, Virginia to James Earnest and Patricia Valenti Foster. He has a younger brother called Daniel Sean. Since he was a kid, his parents gave him pots and pans to beat on. Later on, he would receive a toddler drum set which he admits didn't last long. When he was 5 years old, his mother gave him his first real drum set and he dedicated hours to practice it.
He got into school bands from an early age, and eventually learned music theory and other percussion instruments. While attending Highland Springs High School the marching band won several awards for best drum line. He also got in a garage band called Century.
Several years later, he auditioned for a band called White Heat where Bill Leverty played. He got the job, and eventually they met C.J. Snare and Perry Richardson, forming FireHouse in 1988.
Michael got married to his high school sweetheart, Lori Mingee, in September 15, 1995. They have two daughters together: Jazzmin Rae and Dannielle Rain.
