Michael F. Brennan

Michael F. Brennan was a Democratic state senator from Maine, representing Senate District 9, encompassing parts of the Cumberland County towns of Portland and Westbrook. Brennan was the senate majority leader in 2005. He previously served in the Maine House of Representatives. Brennan is employed as a policy associate in the Muskie Institute at the University of Southern Maine. He is married to Joan Martay and has two children. Brennan chose not to run for reelection in the 2006 elections. In January 2007 he announced that he was considering a run for the Maine First District Congressional seat held by Democrat Tom Allen, should Allen decide to run for the US Senate against incumbent Susan Collins.
