Michael Dibdin

Michael Dibdin (born March 21, 1947, Wolverhampton, died March 30, 2007, Seattle, Washington) was an English crime writer best known for his Aurelio Zen mysteries, set in Italy. This series of detective novels are well-written, and provide a penetrating insight into the less visible aspects of Italian society over the last twenty years. The earlier books have a lightness of touch that gradually becomes much darker. The latest novel in the series is a complete contrast to its predecessor, and though overtly humorous and considerably less black, it is extremely readable.

Dibdin lived in Seattle, Washington, USA, and was the husband of novelist K. K. Beck.
