Michael Byster

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mental calculator Mike Byster is a commodities trader who spends afternoons giving free demonstrations of what he calls "Mathodical Thinking" at grade schools and high schools throughout the Chicago area[1]. After only five minutes of teaching, his students are squaring three-digit numbers almost instantly[2]. He is voluntarily teaching elementary school kids how to do calculations with multi digit numbers without the use of paper and pencil and with incredible speed. He also teaches students how to improve memory skills, how to organize information, how to use shortcuts and patterns.
