Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett

Michael Birkett, 2nd Baron Birkett (born 22 October 1929), is the son of William Norman Birkett, 1st Baron Birkett and Ruth Nilsson. He was educated in Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, and at Cambridge University.
On 13 October 1960, Birkett married Junia Elliott. She fell ill from cancer and died soon after. In 1978 he married Gloria Taylor, daughter of Thomas Taylor, and they had a child, Hon. Thomas Birkett (born 25 July 1982), who is the heir apparent to the barony. Gloria Taylor died in 2001.
Birkett succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Birkett in the Peerage of the United Kingdom (created 1958), on 10 February, 1962. He was admitted to Currier's Company, as a Master between 1975 and 1976.
Birkett was also a film producer and theatre director.
