Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor was a US Navy SEAL. On September 29, 2006 Monsoor and three other SEALs were in rooftop hide out conducting a combat operation when a grenade was thrown at his chest and fell onto the floor. Without a second thought, Monsoor fell onto the grenade, saving the lives of his three comrades. As a result he lost his life.

As of December 2006, The Pentagon is reviewing the recommendation of Monsoor's superiors for the Medal of Honor, the highest award to ever be given in the US Military.
