[edit] Biography

After his education as an announcer and theater actor Youn joined the Paris youth’s radio Skyrock in 1998. There, he made sketches and further entertainment during the morning show.

His popularity and success at the most important french private broadcast station lead to the TV-makers getting interested in Youn. In July 2000 he was engaged fort the new morning show "Morning Live" of Métropole Télévision M6. With Vincent Desagnat and Benjamin Morgaine, Youn made the entertainment part of the show. Like their sketches and public events.(e.g. foam bath in a Paris well), their parodies were particularly successful. In particular, they e.g. parodied the music scene of Jean-Michel Jarre, casting-popstars, the Grand Prix and French rappers.

The success of "Morning Live" was mainly due to Youn and his collegues – when they left the show, it only persisted one year without them.

After their discharge in 2002, Youn, Desagnat and Morgaine have made a music project out of their parodies: The three sailors “Piotr”, “Olaff” and “Dvorjak” from the Eastern European “Slowakistan”, the Bratisla Boys, appeared on the Western music market with their song Stach Stach. The scurrile act became a big success and was number one in French charts during ten weeks. A 2004 listing of the CDs most copies sold in France all times, “Stach Stach” was listed number 30. The success even broke the French country border and reached Switerland, where it was 2nd of the official charts. July 7 2002, the project was stopped by its makers, they claimed, that the Bratisla Boys were lost on the Dead See without leaving any traces.

2002, the film „La Beuze“ was made by Michaël Youn and Vincent Desagnat (whose brother François Desagnat was director) Youn was „Alphonse“, the „unknown brother“ of James Brown, who tries to start an own career – by creating a new (fictive) style, that is called “Frunkp” (mixture of Funk and Rap). The song Le frunkp was published as a single-CD and Michaël Youn (under the name of Alphonse Brown) did a French chartbreaker again. This time, he even reached #1 in Swiss charts.

Youn had an own comedy-tour, called Pluskapoil in 2003/04 (its sequel followed in 2005) and played in films. New music projects followed: Les Conards with Comme des Conards, a cover version of My Sharona by The Knack, as well as a song for the movie Iznogoud (both were in French Top 20). He had small roles in rather big films and was part of Les 11 commandements in 2004 (A French film plagiate of MTV’s Jackass, together with Desagnat and Morgaine).

In 2005, Youn was Iznogoud in the film version of the comic „Iznogoud“ (also known as Isnogud). In 2006 he had the main role in film comedy Incontrôlable. Those two films weren’t very successful, critics and viewers found it so-so. Both films starred Desagnat and Morgaine, but only in small roles.

[edit] Fatal Bazooka

Towards the end of 2006 they picked up a parody from their old Morning-Live times: the hardcore-rappers Fatal Bazooka, in which they played two rappers called “Profanation Funky“ and “La Marmotte Infernale” who wore hoods. Using a hardcore style of rap, the rapped Fous ta cagoule (The message: It’s winter, it’s cold, wear your hood.). It reached #1 in French charts.

The single-CD is Fous ta cagoule of 2006. The song parodies multiple French rappers, in particular Grand Corps Malade and Booba. The video clip was made by Nicolas Benamou.

  • Fatal SSA, « Fou ta cagoule » (Video by the firemen of airport Geneva Cointrin)

Around christmas 2006, the firemen of airport Geneva Cointrin, bored in their headquarters while the chief was away, made a video clip featuring “Fous ta cagoule”. They filmed it on the runway and inside the HQ, showing their vehicles and even a plane, just as real rappers present limousines and sports cars.

This YouTube-video was called «Fatal SSA (Service de Sécurité de l'Aéroport): Fou ta cagoule» and was popular in the Internet. According to Swiss TV news magazine 10vor10 it was viewed 130,000 times. However, the political and direct bosses of the firemen criticized it because real uniforms and equipment was used.
