Yes, I deleted my old userpage, along with my awesome userboxes, political allegories and Classical Chinese autobiography. Yes, I know that the Mozilla "rounded border" thingy is way overused.

My interests on Wikipedia
My one big obsession is the Second Sino-Japanese War. Although I do not claim to be a serious historian or even an expert in this field, I can say that I know much more about it than the average person, Chinese or otherwise. This fascination started a few years back when I met with my mother's uncle, a retired KMT general who is now living comfortably in Shanghai. I am also interested in other periods of Chinese history, particularly the Warlord Era, Ming and Song dynasties, as well as Chinese military history in general. Looking beyond Centralia, I do maintain an interest in the Wehrmacht, perhaps a vestige of my younger, more politically foolish days. Aside from history, I sometimes contribute to various video game articles, likely whichever title I am playing at the time of writing. |
My politics & beliefs
I grew up on a diet of communist propaganda, Japanese manga and GI Joe cartoons but have since eschewed all three. I am socially conservative, economically libertarian but politically apathetic. It might seem dichotomous (or even trichotomous?) but that is who I am. Being a Christian of the fundie kind, I associate naturally with gay-bashers and the like. Having grown up in a country where capitalism runs amok, I am a believer of the superiority of the free market (as are 74% of my countrymen). As far as politics go, I am taking an indifferent stand, having experienced the best and worst of both ends of the spectrum. According to politicalcompass.org, I am 8.88 economic right and 3.33 social libertarian. I support One China, Two Systems, Three Principles (or 一國兩制三主義). |
