[edit] Arthur fforde

Hi, Nic. I got your message and apologize for taking awhile to respond. The Arthur fforde article was moved to Arthur Fforde by User:Pit-yacker in this edit. I sent Pit-yacker a message about your concern. I am not sure of the policies on last names and if there are any exceptions to rules in such a case as this, and so I will try to find what Wikipedia says about this in it's policies and then get back to you. In the meantime you could contact Pit-yacker and discuss it, perhaps he would agree with you and the page could be moved back. If not, please don't take offense at any difference of opinions. I will get back to you on any policy I find. Cheers ^_^ --ElectricEye (talk) 21:43, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi.
I Apologise for incorrectly moving your article and any offence I may have caused.
Not sure on Wikipedia policy regarding this either. However, my own thought is that it should be at the location which is most accurate. Therefore, I have reverted the change back to its old page. I have also put a note about this on Talk:Arthur_fforde so that, hopefully, it wont be moved again.
To change the title of an article you need to move it. Generally, to move an article you just need to click on the "move tab" near the top of the window (right from the "edit tab").

As far as I can tell, the relevant articles would appear to be Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people) and Wikipedia:Naming_conventions. Giving a quick scan, neither seem to give any consideration to this case. Naming conventions does however, state that what the article states are conventions and not hard rules. In which case, IMHO, we should err on the side of correctness. Pit-yacker 23:51, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
