Approximately every month a Mexico Collaboration will be picked using this page. This is a specific Mexico-related topic that could be greatly improved. The aim is to have a featured-standard article by the end of the month from widespread cooperative editing.

The project aims to fill gaps about Mexico in Wikipedia, to give users a focus, and to give us all something to be proud of. Anyone can nominate an article and can vote for the nominated articles. Around the 21st of the month, the votes are tallied, and the winner will be promoted for a month to potential contributors.

The current Mexico Collaboration is Coat of Arms of Mexico.

[edit] Selecting the next collaboration

The next article will be selected on November 21, 2005.

[edit] Voting

Please vote in favor of as many candidates as you like; oppose votes have no effect (approval voting is used). Any registered user may vote for an article, provided that account's first edit occurred before the nomination. You do not have to have any special knowledge about Mexico to nominate or vote for an article. To vote for an article, simply edit the appropriate section and add # ~~~~. If you believe that a topic does not fall within the scope of this project, please mention your objections in the "Comments" section. Around the 21st of every month, the article currently with the most votes will be selected to be the new collaboration. In the case of a tie, the article nominated first will be selected. Articles not selected must receive at least two votes per week to remain in consideration. If a nomination fails to achieve sufficient votes, it may be renominated after at least two weeks. You may wish to see the archive of successful nominations.

[edit] Nominations

Nominations may be made at any time. Nominators must be registered users. To make a nomination, follow the following steps:

  1. Edit the list of nominations and paste the following text at the bottom: {{subst:MexCnew|article name|~~~~~|date in seven days|your reason for nominating|~~~~}}.
  2. Change the text accordingly (for example, {{subst:MexCnew|Monterrey Metro|~~~~~|August 2, 2005|I love riding it.|~~~~}}).
  3. Please add {{MexCnom}} to the top of the article's talk page.

[edit] Flag of Mexico

Nominated on 09:13, 22 December 2005 (UTC); if not selected by December 28th, 2005, needs 2 votes to remain in consideration.

I have worked on some flag related articles, like Flag of Belarus and I wish to work with all of you to make this article into a featured article.

  • I think that this might be too similar to the coat of arms of Mexico, also, I'm not sure which else needs to be added. I might be wrong, I'd like to hear what others have to say. --RyGuy17 08:57, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
    • I probably need to work on the flag display, and also a short paragraph about the Flag Day. The reason why I mainly brought this here is that I just wanted the MX editors to look at it, making sure all information is translated correctly, nothing is missing, so I can eventually send it to WP:PR. [edit] Casta

Nominated on 06:40, 31 October 2005 (UTC); if not selected by date in seven days, needs 2 votes to remain in consideration.

This is a very good article. I wanted to get this to featured article status, and I will do so. I have basically been the only contributor: LET'S CHANGE THAT! εγκυκλοπαίδεια* 05:25, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

We are trying to push this article to be at least a good article (WP:GA), maybe even a featured article (WP:FA). Your help would be much appreciated. --Richard 14:51, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
