Talk:Mexicana Flight 940

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During much of the years of social and political turmoil that engulfed mexican society in the 80s, the true story of Mexicana Flight 940 accident in Maravatio, got buried by the "official" account of a being a tragic accident of mechanical nature. But in fact this is a regretful tradegy result of a planned political sting to eliminate an elite and ambitious top member of the now former and powerful single-grip political party, the PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional.) The timing and the operation was performed while the country was preparing for the closing of one (six-year term) presidential administration of Jose Lopez Portillo and the traditional announcement of the "chosen," a member of his cabinet whom is granted the privilege to run the country in the next term, and be considered "the" new candidate. This practice is commonly known in Mexico as "el dedazo," translated as "the chosen." However, as times closes in for the president to select his replacement and in the midst of months of political speculations and secret rivalries surfacing among those considered viable for the job, a particular circumstance occurs when a closed-circle of loyalists of one potential candidate decide to take matters on their own by selectively placing three unmarked pieces of lugagge on board the B727S cargo compartment packed with explosive devices. The plan was carried out with the intention to eliminate a popular rival and skilled top politician traveling on board Mexicana's flight that morning. As the country was awaken with the somber news that all passangers and the crew lost their lives tragically, the state controlled mexican newscasts, tv and radio stations presented the population a gross and distorted spectacle with reports from expert aviation officials while the elite mexican military were dispatched to location to close all access and initiate debrie removal and following command orders to locate the (target) vicitim's personal material and removal of his luggage. Not until completing this assignment, executives and official representatives of Mexicana Airlines and Boeing were allowed access to the terrain where the majority of the B727S fuselage fell into the ground. The aircraft at the moment of the initial explotion continued flying its trayectory but as it started to loose control, and started lower its nose down, a second explotion occurred seconda after which broke the jet in two sections with scattered debries miles apart.

Up to this day the "official" accident report and public version issued by the government's ministry of Communications and Transport, is the one of the tire blowing up in its compartment and damaging the hidraulic main and back up systems, consequently determining it was an accident of mechanical origin. Unfortunately to the passengers and crew it was a horrific journey result of a sinister act of criminal intent by the dirty politics and power-hungry ambitions of a few with desire to change the outcome of things and corrupt the lives of many with their agenda, no matter the consequences.

The discussion page is for discussing the article, not for propounding theories. Is there any citable sources for the above? Otherwise I will delete it from the talk page.--Prosfilaes 13:41, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
