Mexx

Mexx is a clothing chain and design firm that operates stores around the world. The company sells clothing for men, women and children (Mexx Kids) along with some non-apparel goods.

In early 1970 company founder Rattan Chadha was cloth supplier for department and wholesale stores. Revamping business in early 1980 two popular clothing brands in the Netherlands: “Moustache” - men's, and “Emanuelle” - women's were created. In 1986 the two brand names were merged to form: M (from Moustache) + E (from Emanuelle) + XX (two kisses - an abbreviation for "kiss kiss" ) to create: MEXX.
From its Dutch beginnings the chain now runs operations in 45 countries. The chain was bought in 2001 by the U.S. company, Liz Claiborne
