[edit] Interested in an L.A.-area Wiki meetup?
It appears as though L.A. has never had a Wiki meetup. Would you be interested in attending such an event? If so, checkout User:Eric Shalov/Wikimeetup.

[edit] TIFF
I'm afraid I don't think it's a good idea to add "lossless" to the intro graf of the TIFF article. For one thing, it's getting to be a mouthful -- "lossless raster image data blah blah." But more importantly, if you read the Lossless data compression article that this term is linked to, the article says that TIFF can use lossless or lossy compression.
Lossless compression is not the most important aspect of TIFF. Would you mind changing the intro graf, and I'd support keeping the mention of compression that you added lower down. I wouldn't necessary compare it to any particular format either, because there are even lossless forms of JPEG files, as I understand it. Thanks. DavidH 22:20, July 29, 2005 (UTC)
- Hey, got your response about the above, you did it just right (this whole user-discussion page thing is confusing. We can also talk on the discussion page for the article itself). Anyway, the JPEG comparison is probably OK -- but some JPEG fan may come back upset that we didn't acknowledge that it also has a lossless option. Anyway, thanks for your reply and for contributing. [edit] Image:Alex-03.jpg
Hello, you have tagged this image with {{PD-ineligible}}. However, it is clear that this tag is not proper. It could be used for say, simple chemical structural formulas, but not for photos! Please read Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. If no proper license will be added in seven days, the image will be re-tagged with {{no source}} and deleted. Please ask on my talk page if you have any questions. Renata 04:47, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, I replaced the tag to {{GFDL}}. I assumed that you got the permission to use the image not only in Wikipedia, but that the image is free to use by everybody. Please let me know if my assumption is wrong. Renata 06:38, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Original sin
Regarding your edit to the page Original sin, Please do not place your opinions on the actual article. The article's previous wording of "some may argue" is much better that just stating it as fact. You may place your opinions on the talk page if you wish, however. Please try to keep intact the Neutrality of wikipedia. -Ruff Bark away! 23:31, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- I do agree about the comment on Judaism; I was not reprimanding you on that point; However, remember what I said, Wikipedia is supposed to remain nuetral. You were emphasizing your view that a literal account of the fall was inconsistent. However, Orthodox Presbyterians believe that there is a difference between God's revealed will and his pleasure. It's a little complicated to explain, but just know that your change was discriminating against their beliefs. By the way, I'm not a Presbyterain, I just wanted to keep Wikipedia Neutral. -Ruff Bark away! 21:26, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- I am sorry; I believe we must contact the authorities on this one. Ruff Bark away!
[edit] RFID
Please don't cite non-noteworthy references, such as personal blogs. That can be considered link spam. If you want to provide citations, find some in publications that have editorial oversight. Wikipedia is not the place to publicize original thought. Stuff has to be published elsewhere first. Jehochman (Talk/Contrib) 18:25, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- The age of the linkspam doesn't matter. We should not add external links to non-noteworthy resources. I am not saying that the information is bad, just that the source doesn't qualify under WP:RS. Rather than reverting each other, why don't we ask some other editors for their input. If you like, add a comment to the RFID talk page and sollicit comments. I'll abide by the concensus.
