[edit] Viggo Mortensen as Solid Snake

I heard somewhere that Hideo Kojima himself wants Viggo Mortensen to play Solid Snake. Can anyone confirm?

[edit] David Hayter as Solid Snake

Is there a source to confirm that David Hayter will be playing the role of Solid Snake in the film? --Tuspm 19:17, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

  • No. Not only has Hayter NOT been confirmed, but there hasn't even been any word from the studio about this film since Kojima announced it at E3. The directors have yet to be confirmed and the same goes for the developers or distributors TheDingbat 01:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion

Im not really the type to protect articles from deletion, but this one's fine.

If you actually have any reasons for why you want this article deleted, reply here. If you don't, I'll be forced to remove the tag. --Cloak' 15:34, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey! You said you were gonna discuss the deletion reasons, well, do so here.
Adding a deletion template for no reason isn't the best idea. Please give actual reasons.--Cloak' 07:48, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
It seems you are confused about the way article deletion works on the Wikipedia. First of all, if you disagree with a deletion nomination, you should not remove the template notice that gets added to an article, but discuss it at the article's entry at the Articles for Deletion (AfD) page. The template message you removed, and that I moved back, quite clearly states this. I'm assuming you are talking about me moving the template back into the article, and that is the reason for me doing it. As for my opinion on the actual deletion nomination, I voiced those in the appropriate place, the above mentioned AfD entry. And you can do so too. --Codemonkey 08:59, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm posting it here since the deletion discussing page doesn't seem to exist. If this is deleted, Wikipedia will be SO sorry. This is an important article. It does NOT break the Crystal Ball rules, since it has been confirmed by Hideo Kojima that this movie is going to happen. The movie will happen, so don't delete the page. --ChaosSorcerer91 09:59, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I reverted your deletion of the deletion template. This article is not up for deletion. The discussion was closed as no consensus over two months ago and defaulted to keep. Deleting the link only deletes material supporting keeping the article if this comes up for deletion again. Ace of Sevens 17:58, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
  • "The likely hood of this movie seems very unlikely, & the basis for it seems almost fictitius, frankly i think it needs more investigation before it can be listed. I'm for Deletion" Roxanne Edits 02:33, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

There is nothing fictious about it. The movie was announced in Konami's pamphlet "Show Maybe" for the 2006 E3. I know that there are scanned versions of this pamphlet on the internet that you could see for yourself. I believe it has also been mentioned on hideochan radio and it's U.S. counterpart, hideoblog more than once. 71.231.84.147 11:22, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, an official link for the pamphlet is cited at the bottom of the page and can be found here http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/showmaybe/big.php?no=29&side=0 71.231.84.147 11:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] deleting Hugh Laurie rumour

I can't find anything to back up the hugh laurie claim with google; it sounds a bit unlikely too (especially at the stage the project is at). Any thoughts/objections?

[edit] Uwe Boll Reference

Should it be mentioned that Uwe Boll started spreading rumors that Hideo was in contact with him with regards to the possibility that he would direct the film, and Hideo's reaction to the rumor("Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him.")? --Vercalos 00:19, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I dunno, but considering that the guy is know for bad video game to movie conversions, I'd say that putting under the director something saying "Not Uwe Boll" would be funny, but is a reference really encyclopedic? I say if anyone wants to know, they'll go to his article. - Thekittenofterra 02:35, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Mmmh... you could put it in a "Production" or "Development" tag, I think, as like it or not, it is part of the "pre-production" (the rumored directors, I mean). I don't know for sure, though. - Cernex 03:19, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

I went ahead and added it, if that's okay. --YoungOcelot 00:01, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay, someone merged it with the production history tag. Sounds good to me. --YoungOcelot 19:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Sounds good to me too. Cernex 00:47, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I seperated it into its own paragraph since it was pretty messy the way it was.Minirogue 18:13, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
