Metzad

Metzad is a Haredi settlement in the Gush Etzion settlement block. The settlement was established in 1984 by immigrants from the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa and France. The settlement was build on the site of a military outpost called Nahal Aspar which had been constructed in 1983.

Metzad in the southernmost settlement in the Gush Etzion block, and is one of the three Haredi settlements in the block, the others being Betar Ilit and Ma'ale Amos. The settlement contains two Yeshivas: Metzudat David and Torah U'Briut, the later one combining Torah study with the study of alternative medicine.
