Metope (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Metope (Greek: Μετώπη) was a river nymph, the daughter of the river Ladon. Her waters were near the town of Stymphalos in the Peloponnesus. She married the river Asopus by whom she had several daughters, including Sinope, Thebe, Korkyra and Harpina.

Metope is mentioned in Pseudo-Apollodorus III.12.6, Pindar Olympian VI.84, and Diodorus Siculus IV.72.
