Metabolic enzyme

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A metabolic enzyme is an enzyme involved in a metabolic pathway (chemical reaction), inside individual cells.

[edit] Metabolic Enzyme's Purpose

An enzyme is a catalyst which speeds up reactions within living organisms. Metabolic enzymes, especially in humans, speed up reactions within cells, tissues, and even organs. These reactions slow down aging in cells and help keep cellular processes, such as mitosis and cell respiration. As with all enzymes, metabolic enzymes require vitamins and minerals to work properly, as well as food enzymes. If there is a lack of food enzymes, the body will take other enzymes to replace them.
